John trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. As an actor he has worked at The Stephen Joseph Theatre, The West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Haymarket Theatre and toured extensively both in the UK and Ireland. Recently he has focused on writing and directing. He has a reputation for nuturing young talent and developing comedy.

John also works as trainer and facilitator in the corporate world. He brings some of the learning from his experience as an actor to solve the problems of poor communication in the workplace. Over recent years John has seen his work performed on the television, the radio, and on the stage.

He has a successful writing partnership with Tom Allen that has seen Tom win the BBC new talent award for comedy as well as the So You Think You Are Funny? with material they wrote together.

The Correspondent has become a hit on BBC Radio 4 and it now looks like a book will follow.

Iron Shoes is an opportunity to bring together some of the skills and experience gathered over the years and create a company that is focused on delivering quality theatre and telling amazing stories.
